I have a "Mid West" work ethic with a need for Florida weather. Seven years of coastal deliveries along with many great cruises with happy owners have made this job all I wished for. I currently hold a 150 ton Master license for Near Coastal Waters and have recently completed the USCG 200 ton upgrade course. I've logged over 75,000 delivery miles as well as working on several charter vessels. I recently completed 2 years on a family boat that went from Florida to the Great Lakes and back. This vessel required extensive warranty repairs that I supervised in Lauderdale over a 6 month period. I look forward to getting aboard a 70-100 foot vessel for an owner that uses it to enjoy the water, his family and his guests.
I left the retail automotive service business in 1999 and never looked back. I took my love of boating, my experience as a technician and teacher, and an adventurous spirit and dove head first into the yacht industry.Yacht delivery and hands-on training to start which quickly lead to long distance delivery between the Great Lakes and south Florida. Then full time captain positions during the winter in Fort Lauderdale aboard vessels around 70 feet. I never had more fun on the job as when the owner was aboard having a great time with his guests. That was the greatest compliment to me for a job done well. My dream job would be a long term full time position aboard a large yacht in Florida and Bahamas each winter and then north to the Great Lakes or New England summer. The favorite past times aboard would be scuba diving, snorkeling, entertaining, and exploring new ports.
